Top 10 Coffee Producing Countries in 2007

A while back I posted about the top 10 coffee producing countries between 2004-2006. Here’s data from 2007.

According to the International Coffee Organization, Brazil still leads the world in coffee production with an average of more than 33 million bags of coffee produced each year, down from about 42.5 million in 2006. It’s interesting to note that the same 10 countries made the top 10 in 2007 as in my previous post. The only change in rank was that Peru moved from the 7th spot to the 10th. Of course my previous post included data that was an average of years ‘04, ‘05, and ‘06.

The following table shows the average number of bags of coffee produced in 2007 per country.

Country Average Coffee Production (in bags)
Brazil 33,740,000
Vietnam 17,500,000
Colombia 12,400,000
Indonesia 7,000,000
Ethiopia 5,733,000
India 4,850,000
Mexico 4,500,000
Guatemala 4,000,000
Honduras 3,833,330
